The Lockdown Battle

Its been three weeks my school has been shut down due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Although I can’t go to school, my school has been conducting online classes through a webinar. Our classes start at nine in the morning and end in the afternoon. It’s been a new experience for me as it’s not every day that we get to sit at home and attend school. It was fun for a couple of days, but it has its cons. Online classes do not fulfil all the categories of a day school. I miss my cronies a lot and all the little things we used to do.

I can’t step out of my home except when it’s absolutely necessary. Every day, I used to go out for playing with my friends in the neighbourhood. Now, I can’t. So, its been a very exacerbating dull couple of weeks.

But I am trying my level best to distract myself out of the boredom. I have taken out my crafts set from the dusty corner of my room and involved myself in making some creative things. I have been reading and completed two novels in the last week. I am also trying to learn Origami(it’s not as easy as it looks, a few suggestions may help)and learn some programming. (and I have made my brother a habit of reading other books excluding his studies. Thank you, Rick Riordan! He is very studious. My mom was incredulous after seeing him.)

The second most important thing that I miss from actually not going to school is sports. You can’t have a football/badminton match through online. I love games, and momentarily I can’t play any outdoor game, and the only option I have is to play Scrabble or Jenga. In my country, they have announced a lockdown for 21 days. I have read somewhere that 21 days is needed to learn a new habit. So, I have started doing yoga which helps me to keep my mind at peace and attain more concentration.

I like to be optimistic and see the good in the worst situation, so even though I am missing many things I love, I have something to look forward to every day(I meant yoga and the stuff I have been learning).

Presently, our world is suffering from a pandemic, so let’s stay at home and use this time productively to learn something and relax a little bit from our busy life. Hence, the first thing you should do now is to go get your blankie and take a nap. 🙂
