Work Without ‘Reward’

Last Monday, my school declared the student council results. It took three days for them to decide, as it was a tough competition. I was prepared to take the results sportingly. Just before the school closed, we had a special assembly where students waited for results with a lot of anticipation.

I have nominated myself as the literary ambassador of the school and I WON! I was on cloud nine at that moment and my parents gave me a treat. I will get my complete responsibility tomorrow, as tomorrow is our school’s investiture ceremony. I have also the entire editorial team for magazines and soft boards with me.

I am not giving complete credit to myself. I also do not think the result I got is only because of my hard work. It is always good to work without expecting any reward. Therefore, that day I understood that whatever I do, I have to do it with my best efforts and not expect any reward for it. It is important to give our best and not be anxious about the consequence.

Next month is the literary month where literary ambassadors will take most of the duties, i.e. my compeer and me. 🙂 🙂
